Can you help an out of work tour guide?

I was working as a tour guide in Sydney until the planes stopped flying. If you are enjoying my blog posts and can afford to toss a bit of coin into my virtual hat – the cost of a coffee or beer, say – that would be a huge help.  I hope you are faring as well as can be expected wherever you are.

No 8: Bronte Beach – 2 May 2010

I’ve always liked Bronte Beach.  It’s among the well-known and easily accessed beaches of Sydney’s eastern suburbs but always feels a little less trodden than Coogee and Bondi.

Bronte Beach is 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) from home.

Bronte Beach is home to a great ocean pool , a good sized park with a miniature train for the littleys, and a row of cafes opposite.

This was our last beach visit of the 2010 summer season and it took place well into autumn – but a gloriously warm autumn day where the summer heat still held in the Pacific currents.

Bronte is in the Waverley LGA, the state district of Coogee (Paul Pearce, Labor, had the seat when we visited; now Bruce Notely-Smith, Liberal) and federal division of Wentworth (Malcolm Turnbull, Liberal).  When we visited this was the first beach in this tour represented by Labor at either state or federal level … now it’s in the Liberals hands.
